Dear Parents

Welcome to our school website! There are many exciting things happening in our school and I hope this site helps you share in them. Please take the time to explore. We hope you will find information that is useful to you and many examples of the occasions we have to catch our students being good!

Great Examination Results

With 77% of students gaining at least 5 good GCSE grades, it has been a record year for Cox Green students. A large number of students have gained more than 10 A* and A grades with one student gaining 14! These are fantastic results - congratulations to our students and their families.

Congratulations to students in Years 12 and 13 on what are great examintation results. Both groups have gained better results than last year and the A-level results are the second best the school has ever achieved - well done!

It is really pleasing to see so many students gaining university places; we don't seem to have had the sort of problems many had predicted nationally. It looks like all students have gained places. Particular congratulations to those students who have gained 5 A-levels - an amazing achievement. A huge well done to Joel and Matt who have secured their places at Oxford; a great achievement.

Looking for a secondary school?

The thoughts of families with children in Year 6 and Year 5 will be turning to choosing a secondary school. I am very pleased that our Year 7 entry this September is over-subscribed. This is a great vote of confidence from over 170 families.

During the week ending 17th September information will be sent home via our primary schools. This will give details of our main Open Evening which will be held between 5pm and 9pm on Tuesday 28th September. We will be distributing our new prospectus but meanwhile the 'Gaining a Place' section contains information about the processes of applying. We hope this is helpful. There is a link to an electronic copy of the current prospectus in this section. We are also holding Open Mornings (9.15 to 12.00) on Monday 4th and Tuesday 12th October. We look forward to meeting families at one of these opportunities.

I would like to take this chance to thank the families from South Bucks who
have organised a bus service to transport their children to Cox Green. A great
facility that is proving very popular.

Earlier this summer we held Proms for Years 11 and 13. Go to the CG Gallery to see the photographs complete with varied transport, big dresses and smart bow ties.

Congratulations to staff and students for our fantastic and challenging Rock Challenge piece, 'The Hiding'. The team won 5 awards at the Southern Finals - a great achievement. This follows immediately from the news that we have just secured the prestigious Arts Mark Gold Award. This reflects the outstanding quality of work in the school in this important area. Well done to all.
