Enrichment and the Wider Curriculum
There is a wide range of Enrichment opportunities at Cox Green. It is important to us that the whole person is helped to develop and nurture the individual talents and interests that our students have. This is encouraged by the breadth of our academic curriculum, our PD sessions and our broader enrichment program. The values of kindness, respect and determination are reflected in the diversity of groups that are on offer.
Groups include those connected to a range of sport and fitness, DofE, music, drama and art along with several academically based enrichment groups from Classics to Biology. These groups are updated every term and information is given in the Newsletter.
There are also a wider range of groups reflecting our diverse and inclusive community. These include Qmmunity, Unity, Wellbeing Ambassadors and our Anti-bullying group. They run assemblies, lunch time sessions, peer mentoring and support as well as other projects.
Students can also gain enrichment through our specific leadership groups. We have JSL to act as our student voice. These represent students from all key stages and are led by our sixth form head student team. We also have prefects who are students from Y11 and Y13 who role model our values around school and in public events, developing a sense of confidence and pride in our community.
We have our house system which promotes friendly determination and competition and support through a program of events which span different subjects and activities. This allows all students to participate in additional activities and develop interests and skills. This progam also incorporated termly fundraising events for different charities including raising money as well as donations for different organizations.
Our Sixth Form students can also have their own Enrichment program on a Wednesday afternoon. This allows students to participate in a range of activities from volunteering in local primary schools and care homes to sport, cooking and debating.
